A chieftain of the peoples Democratic Party PDP in Kaduna State Hon. Habibu Dubbani has expressed dismay over the statement credited to the State Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Barrister Mohammed Musa Soba castigating the Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Yakowa, over his achievements in 100 days in office.
Speaking with newsmen weekend Dubbani regretted that Soba’s statement was capable of distracting the people-oriented government run by the Governor.
Dubbani who is also the zonal Chairman of PDP Zone 1 in kaduna State, said the allegations of non-performance by Barrister Soba against the present administration were but a sheer blackmail aimed at seeking political relevance.
According to him, the era of bargaining has gone in Kaduna as the present administration does not hide anything under the carpet as it is the government that runs its affairs under justice, equity and transparency.
He said though the Yakowa administration has just marked 100 days in office, it has performed credibly well in transforming the state particularly the economy and its open door policy.
According to Dubbani, Yakowa’s one hundred days in office was not enough for one to pass a judgment “unless the Judge is desperate to achieve his ill desire”, pointing out that the people of Kaduna State have testified with out any fear of contradiction that the governor has achieved greatly within his shortest time in office, “and we are ready to support him to clinch his ticket come 2011”.
Some of the major achievements of Yakowa within his hundred days in office, Dubbani said, include unity and progress, peace stability, economic transformation and pragmatic steps to move the state forward.
“On this note, “we want to draw the attention of Barrister Soba to the fact that it is no longer business as usual as the era of political intimidation aimed at extorting money has gone and we will no longer tolerate any unguarded utterances by anybody as we have resolved to face any challenge that will be a cog in the wheel of our progress”.
