Oyo, Osun to raise joint c’ttee on LAUTECH ownership

GOVERNOR Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State yesterday hinted that Oyo and and Osun state governments are to set up a joint committee on the review of ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

The governor dropped this hint while speaking with journalists at the end of a meeting with Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala on the issue of continued joint ownership of the University.

According to Oyinlola, the meeting was to fashion the way out of the prolonged controversy over the joint ownership and financing of the university established by the government of old Oyo state.

He disclosed that at the meeting also attended by governing council and the management of the university, the two owner states agreed to set up a joint committee to look into the issue of the continued joint ownership of the institution and come up with a lasting solution to the controversy .

Governor Oyinlola added that the issue at stake on the involves charting the way forward on the review of the joint ownership of the institution to pave way for the taking over of university by Oyo State.

The governor stressed that the review will be done on a brotherly basis considering the fact that the two states belong to the same family and that the issue will be resolved amicably with the belief that both states have the overall interest of the people at heart which will form the basis of resolving all issues at stake.
